SKS Rennkompressor Floor Pump — Made in Germany Since 1966
Some things do not need reinventing. The SKS Rennkompressor has been the most popular floor pump in international cycling since its introduction in 1966 and is regarded as the father of all floor pumps — the original from which every floor pump that followed takes its cues. It has barely changed in nearly 60 years because it was right the first time.
It is the sheer toughness of construction that sets the SKS apart. These pumps stand being kicked around workshop floors and thrown around the backs of mechanics' cars when all others give up. Solid orange steel cylinder, cast iron base with folding steel feet, black wooden handle, reversible hose. Heavy, deliberate, indestructible. The kind of tool you buy once and hand down.
230 PSI — More Than You Will Ever Need
Rated to 230 PSI — enough pressure for the highest-specification road tires and more than adequate for every gravel, commuter, and eBike tire in the range. The precision pressure gauge reads in both bar and PSI. Inflating a 40mm gravel tire to 45 PSI takes 32 strokes — powerful, efficient, and effortless compared to a mini pump.
Universal Valve Compatibility
Fitted with SKS's MV Easy Multi Valve head — compatible with Presta, Schrader, and Dunlop valves from a single head with no adapter swapping. The thumb lock lever clamps securely onto the valve and releases cleanly. The reversible hose allows you to pump from either side of the bike without repositioning the pump.
Built to Last a Lifetime — Literally
Today, every SKS Rennkompressor is still made in Sundern, Germany. Every component is serviceable and replaceable — the hose, the head, the gauge. You might have to fix the SKS one day, but you will never need a new one. The folding steel feet collapse flat for storage and transport. At 650mm tall it takes up almost no floor space when stored against a wall.
The Rennkompressor is not the lightest pump, not the most feature-rich, and not the cheapest. It is the one that is still working in twenty years when everything else has been replaced.
