Titanium Frame and Rails: The Lightest B17
The B17 Special Titanium is Brooks' lightest leather touring saddle. Titanium rails replace the solid steel rails of the standard B17, the same material used in aerospace and high-end bicycle components, offering the same strength at significantly reduced weight. At 410 grams versus the standard's 530 grams, the Special Titanium saves 120 grams without changing the ride quality, the leather, or the break-in process in any way. For a touring rider or bikepacker where every gram across the whole build is considered, that saving is meaningful.

Chamfered Sides: Refined Construction
The B17 Special adds chamfered sides to the leather: a detail that refines the profile and reduces bulk at the edges of the saddle. A visual and tactile refinement that distinguishes the Special from the Standard on close inspection.

The Same Break-In, the Same Result
The B17 Special uses the same 5mm vegetable-tanned leather as the standard B17. The break-in process is identical: firm for the first 300–500 kilometres, progressively more comfortable as the leather moulds to your sit bones, eventually becoming the most comfortable saddle you have ridden. The titanium rails and copper rivets are premium details on top of a proven foundation. The saddle that disappears beneath you after break-in is still the saddle underneath the Special designation.
