The Passage Cruiser is for the rider who has decided that getting there is part of the point. Same chromoly steel frame as the Passage Commuter, same hydraulic disc brakes, same rack and fender mounts, same 50-Point certification from our Kitsilano workshop - with one meaningful difference. The swept-back moustache handlebar puts you in the most upright riding position available on a flat bar bicycle, hands swept back toward your body, shoulders relaxed, back straight, eyes forward. You are not leaning into the bike. The bike is sitting underneath you.

The Swept-Back Bar - Why It Changes Everything
A conventional flat bar puts your hands out in front of you, which creates a slight forward lean even on a relaxed build. A swept-back moustache bar brings your hands back toward your hips and naturally rotates your wrists into a neutral, open position - the position your hands fall to when you stand with your arms at your sides. For a rider who wants to cruise the Seawall, run errands through Kitsilano, or simply ride without arriving with a tight lower back, this is the bar that makes the bike genuinely comfortable rather than just less aggressive.

The upright position also changes how the bike feels in traffic - more visibility, more confidence, more presence. You see further. You see earlier. You ride accordingly.

Everything underneath the bars is identical to the Passage Commuter. Heat-treated, triple-butted 4130 chromoly steel frame. Hydraulic disc brakes on every build. Rack and fender mounts front and rear for year-round carrying capability. Multiple drivetrain options from entry-level through Shimano CUES LinkGlide. The same wheels, the same tires, the same assembly standard.

Steel Comfort Over Distance
The 4130 chromoly frame absorbs road vibration progressively rather than transmitting it directly - a quality that matters more the further you ride and the more upright your position. In a fully upright position on swept-back bars, your arms carry less weight and your back carries more of the riding load. A steel frame that gives slightly under that load is more comfortable than an aluminium frame that transmits every surface irregularity directly up through the seat and bars. The Passage Cruiser is a bike you can ride for two hours on a Saturday without it feeling like exercise.

Every Passage Cruiser is assembled by hand at 1737 Fir Street and put through the Evercoast 50-Point Technical Certification before it leaves. Frame alignment verified. Every bearing surface greased. Every bolt torqued. Then ridden before it goes out the door.
