      Evercoast Passage Touring

      $2,999.95

Built for the long way home.

The Passage Touring is a chromoly steel drop bar bicycle built for distance - the bike you pack on a Friday evening and ride until Sunday, or the bike that does the Sea to Sky corridor in a weekend and the Arbutus Greenway on Tuesday. It is a gravel-capable touring machine at heart, built on the same Evercoast Passage frame as the rest of the lineup, but set up from the ground up for loaded riding over long distances rather than speed.

The Touring Position — Upright, Stable, Sustainable
The Passage Touring ships with a 35° rise stem as standard - significantly more upright than a conventional drop bar gravel position. Combined with the UNO FL-12 drop bar, which is moderately flared without the aggressive wing-spread of a dedicated gravel race bar, the result is a riding position that is controlled and comfortable over hours rather than optimised for the first thirty minutes. Your hands sit higher, your back sits more upright, and the bike asks less of you over the course of a long day in the saddle.

The drop bar still gives you multiple hand positions - hoods, drops, and tops - which matters on a loaded touring bike where shifting hand position is how you manage fatigue over distance. A flat bar does not offer this. On a six-hour loaded ride, the ability to move your hands is not a detail.

Touring Tires — Flat Resistant, Built for Loaded Use
The Passage Touring ships with tires selected specifically for loaded distance riding - Schwalbe Marathon Plus or Kenda Kwick Drumlin Cargo depending on configuration. Both are built for the kind of riding where a flat is not an inconvenience but a genuine problem - miles from anywhere, with a loaded bike and a schedule. The Schwalbe Marathon Plus's 5mm SmartGuard layer stops virtually everything. The Kenda Kwick Drumlin Cargo's 4-ply construction handles the additional load of a fully packed touring setup without the sidewall flex that standard tires show under weight.

Neither tire is the fastest. Both are the correct choice for a bike that needs to keep moving day after day regardless of what the road surface does.

Rear Rack - Included, Your Choice
Every Passage Touring includes a rear rack as standard equipment - not an optional extra, because a touring bike without a rack is just a gravel bike. Which rack is yours to decide. At the time of order you choose from our current range of compatible rack options to match your carrying setup, panniers, and load requirements. We will confirm compatibility with your frame size and intended use before anything is ordered. Front rack mounts are also available on the Passage frame for riders building a full front and rear loaded setup.

Steel That Was Made for This
4130 chromoly steel is not a compromise on a touring bike - it is the ideal material for one. Steel absorbs the sustained vibration of long days on mixed surfaces in a way that aluminium does not. It can be repaired by any welder, anywhere in the world, if something goes wrong far from home. It carries load without the frame behaviour changing the way a lighter, stiffer material does under weight. And it lasts - a well-maintained chromoly touring bike is a multi-decade machine. We build the Passage Touring to be ridden for years, not replaced in seasons.

The frame carries rack mounts front and rear, full fender compatibility, and multiple bottle cage mounts as standard. The Passage is a frame designed with this kind of use in mind from the beginning.

Brakes - Hydraulic or Mechanical, Both Done Properly
Every Passage Touring is available with either hydraulic disc brakes or TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes with Jagwire KEB-SL compressionless housing. Both are the correct specification for a loaded touring bike - the choice is yours.

The hydraulic option delivers self-adjusting, consistent stopping power with minimal maintenance overhead. The mechanical option with TRP Spyre calipers and KEB-SL compressionless housing is a deliberate and legitimate choice for touring - cables can be replaced anywhere in the world with basic tools, there is no bleed kit required, and the TRP Spyre's dual-sided pad actuation and KEB-SL's linear strand housing combine to deliver a lever feel that is firm, direct, and more capable than any other mechanical disc brake system available. For a rider planning remote or international touring where service availability is uncertain, mechanical brakes are the smarter long-term choice.

      Multiple Drivetrain Options
The Passage Touring is available in multiple drivetrain configurations to suit different budgets and gearing preferences - from an accessible 1x11 entry setup through to Shimano CUES LinkGlide, a drivetrain specifically engineered for long-service-life use where durability over distance matters more than ultimate weight savings. All builds share the same frame, wheel specification, brake standard, and assembly process at our Kitsilano workshop. The drivetrain changes. The bike does not.

      Built and Certified in Vancouver
Every Passage Touring is assembled by hand at 1737 Fir Street and put through the Evercoast 50-Point Technical Certification before it leaves. Frame alignment verified. Every bearing surface greased. Every bolt torqued to specification. Then ridden before it goes out the door.

Available in four sizes - 50, 53, 56, 59cm. Come into the workshop if you want to talk through the rack options, tire choice, or build configuration before you order.
