Maxxis Rambler Tanwall Gravel Tire
The gravel tire that wins races and wanders backroads with equal enthusiasm.
The Maxxis Rambler is already into its second generation and sticks to a familiar formula — one of the biggest names in MTB transfers its off-road expertise directly into gravel, delivering top comfort, efficient rolling, and capable control. With numerous race wins and countless miles of backroad adventures, the Rambler has become the benchmark gravel tire for riders who want one tire that handles everything from hardpack to loose gravel to wet conditions — finished in the classic tan wall that looks as good as it rides.
Why Riders Choose the Rambler
Ramped Centre Knobs: Fast on Hard Surfaces: Tightly packed centre knobs are ramped for rolling efficiency on hardpack roads and asphalt, while cornering knobs are spaced farther apart for predictable control in varied terrain. The result is a tire that rolls efficiently on the road between gravel sections without sacrificing the grip you need the moment things get loose.
Exceptional Grip in All Conditions Whether it's hardpack, coarse gravel, or wet conditions, the tread consistently bites into the surface and delivers extremely stable traction — comfort, grip, and predictable cornering are all at a very high level. This isn't a fair-weather gravel tire; it earns its keep year-round on Vancouver Island's variable surfaces.
Dual Compound — Fast Rolling, Better Cornering The Dual compound is optimized for longevity and performance — a harder compound at the centre for lower rolling resistance, with a softer compound at the shoulders for increased cornering grip. You get the best of both worlds without compromising either.

Tubeless Ready — Run Lower Pressure, Fewer Flats Tubeless Ready tires offer better traction, lower rolling resistance, and fewer flats by eliminating the inner tube — run lower pressures for improved grip and control. Pair with tubeless-compatible rims and liquid sealant for a setup that self-seals small punctures on the go.
Classic Tanwall Aesthetic The natural tan sidewall is a nod to vintage racing rubber — visually distinctive on any gravel or adventure build, and a hallmark of performance-oriented tire construction.
Tubeless Setup Requirements
The Rambler TR requires tubeless-compatible rims and liquid sealant. Not compatible with standard clincher rim tape. Check and refresh sealant every 3–6 months as it dries over time.
