Minoura AB100 Dura-Cage Bottle Cage 4.5mm / 5.5mm

The bottle cage that gets specced on builds where the details matter. The Minoura AB100 Dura-Cage is machined from #2017 Duralumin — a high-strength Japanese aerospace aluminium alloy significantly stronger than the standard #5056 alloy used in most production bottle cages. The same material used in aircraft construction, adopted for bicycle components because it achieves exceptional durability at a smaller diameter and lower weight than standard alloy. Available in two wire diameters to suit different riding priorities, and in a wide range of anodised and powder coated colours to suit any build. Made in Japan.

The strength advantage of #2017 Duralumin over standard #5056 alloy means Minoura can achieve the same structural durability with a narrower wire diameter — which translates directly to lighter weight without the flex and rattle that thinner standard alloy cages develop over time. The anodised finish is applied after forming, providing corrosion resistance and colour depth that paint cannot match, and eliminating the risk of finish chipping at the bottle contact points.

Choose Your Diameter. 4.5mm or 5.5mm.

The 4.5mm version is the lighter, more supple option at 38 grams. The narrower wire gives the cage slightly more flex at the bottle opening — the bottle inserts and removes with less resistance, which suits riders who prioritise easy bottle access on the move. Designed for standard diameter cycling water bottles and road riders who prioritise lightweight feel.

The 5.5mm version is the stiffer, more robust option at 54 grams. The thicker wire provides more retention force and less cage flex under load — the bottle stays firmly in place on rough terrain and at higher speeds. Also designed to accommodate larger diameter bottles including insulated and stainless steel bottles that sit loosely in standard diameter cages. The correct choice for gravel, touring, and any riding where bottle security matters more than minimum weight.
