Designed for lightweight touring, gravel bikepacking, and daily commuting, the Salsa Down Under is the lighter, aluminum counterpart to the HD version. By mounting low-rider style panniers directly over the front axle, it lowers your center of gravity to keep handling agile, stable, and predictable—even when riding off-road or on rough gravel trails.

  • No Top Hoop Design: Features an independent two-piece lowrider system without a upper connector hoop. This allows full compatibility with ultra-wide tires (from standard 29er wheels up to full fat bike setups).

  • Three-Position Mid-Blade Adjustment: Includes a three-position mounting rail for easy leveling and precise positioning across a variety of fork geometries.

  • Disc-Brake Friendly Geometry: Forward-facing design provides plenty of clearance for mechanical and hydraulic disc brake calipers.

  • Large Pannier Hook Stops: Built-in lower and upper hook stops keep your pannier mounting clips securely in place over bumpy terrain.
