The Shimano CUES Polished Silver Edition pays homage to Shimano's century-long heritage of metalworking: a special finish that makes an already capable drivetrain genuinely distinctive on any build. This is not a cosmetic exercise. The silver edition carries the full CUES engineering package: LinkGlide drivetrain technology, flat mount hydraulic disc brakes, and drop bar compatibility in a 1x10 or 11 configuration that covers everything from urban commuting to loaded gravel touring. 

LinkGlide Technology that's Built to Last: Shimano's LinkGlide cassettes offer up to three times the durability of traditional Hyperglide drivetrains, making CUES particularly well-suited for commuting, touring, and eBike applications where long service intervals matter more than ultimate weight savings. The wider cog teeth engage with the dedicated CN-LG500 chain for smoother, quieter operation that holds up under sustained load, exactly how most everyday riders actually use a drivetrain.

Drop Bar Ready that Inherits 105 Ergonomics: The ST-U6030 dual-control levers inherit advanced features from Shimano's renowned 105 series. Extensive research on different hand shapes developed the bracket design and lever geometry. Road and gravel riders will feel at ease thanks to this refined shape and the reliable performance of the hydraulic disc brakes. Right lever shifts and controls the rear brake. Left lever controls the front brake. Standard drop bar convention, executed cleanly. 

Flat Mount Hydraulic Disc Brakes paired with160mm: The BR-U6030 flat mount hydraulic disc brake caliper is specifically designed for widely used 160mm rotors, with a lightweight 2-piston construction that provides reliable braking performance in all conditions. Both calipers arrive as J-Kit pre-filled assemblies — hose, mineral oil, and connector insert installed at the factory. Front caliper ships with 1000mm hose. Rear caliper ships with 1700mm hose. Ready to bleed and ride.

Shadow Plus Rear Derailleur Keeps Your Chain Stable: The RD-U6000 rear derailleur features Shadow RD+ technology with a chain stabilizer that prevents the chain from jumping off or rattling: smooth, stable drive performance whether on gravel, trail, or road. Medium cage, compatible with 10 and 11-speed CUES LinkGlide configurations, maximum 50T sprocket capacity. 

Wide Range 1x10 Gearing 11-48T: The CS-LG400-10 LinkGlide cassette runs 11-48T across 10 speeds, a wide range that covers steep climbs, loaded touring, and everything in between without a front derailleur to manage. Paired with a 42T chainring on a 172.5mm two-piece crankset, this is a versatile 1x setup that works on road, gravel, and commuter builds with equal confidence.

CN-LG500 LinkGlide Chain The dedicated LinkGlide chain: 126 links with quick-link included is engineered specifically for LinkGlide cassettes and designed for the longer service life that defines the CUES platform. Compatibility Notes

LinkGlide drivetrain: requires a dedicated LinkGlide chain and LinkGlide cassette. Not compatible with standard Hyperglide chains or cassettes. For aftermarket replacement, the KMC XGlide is the correct chain for this groupset.

Flat mount brakes: compatible with flat mount frames and forks natively. Post mount or IS mount frames require an adapter.

Bottom bracket: not included. The FC-U6030-1 two-piece crankset is compatible with BSA 68mm English thread frames using a standard threaded bottom bracket. For an Evercoast Passage Pro build, we recommend the Shimano BB-RS501.

Rotors: not included. Designed for 160mm flat mount. For an Evercoast Passage Pro build, we recommend the Shimano SM-RT66 160mm 6-bolt rotor. Compatible with both 6-bolt and centre-lock hubs depending on your wheel specification.

Cables and housing: this groupset includes Shimano OT-SP41 brake housing and a shift cable. Bar tape, additional housing, and ferrules are not included.
