Velo Orange Porteur Front Rack

The rack that started as a working tool and became an icon. The Porteur rack takes its name and form from the bicycles used by Parisian newspaper delivery riders in the mid-20th century. Those bikes carried up to 50 kilograms of newspapers on racks not unlike this one, navigating the streets of Paris before dawn, every day, in all weather. The Velo Orange Porteur is a faithful interpretation of that tradition in polished stainless steel, updated with a four-point mounting system that makes it more stable and more capable than any previous version.

Polished Stainless Steel. Built to Last a Lifetime.
The Porteur rack is made from strong stainless steel tubing polished to a clean, bright shine. It will not rust like painted steel racks and will not fatigue or crack like aluminium racks under sustained loading. The quality is genuinely superior to many custom racks at several times the price. This is a real load-carrying rack, not an aluminium style piece. It happens to look beautiful, but that is secondary to what it does.

Four-Point Mounting. Upgraded for 50lb Capacity.
The updated Porteur rack now includes dedicated side-of-fork mounting hardware that attaches to the mid-fork braze-ons common on touring and gravel bikes. The four-point mounting system creates a dramatically more stable platform than the previous three-point design, officially rating the rack for 50 lbs of load. The original fork crown tang is also included for frames that do not have mid-fork braze-ons. The Evercoast Passage steel fork includes front rack eyelets as standard, making the four-point setup the correct and recommended installation.

Large Platform. Removable Rail. Practical Details.
The platform measures 36cm x 29cm — large enough for a market bag, a camera case, a delivery box, or the kind of cargo that does not fit neatly into panniers. A removable rail attaches across the front of the platform to retain smaller items and can be removed entirely for a flat bed when the load calls for it. Integrated light mounts are built into the rack body for a clean front light installation without zip ties or aftermarket mounts. A dedicated fender attachment point keeps fenders from rattling under load. Elegant pannier loops above the mounting tangs provide additional cargo tie-down points.

Fits 26", 650b, 700c, and 27" Wheels.
The tangs are pre-drilled to fit all common wheel sizes. Compatible with the Evercoast Passage in both 26" and 700c configurations.
