Velo Orange Threadless Stem 31.8mm, Silver / Black

Velo Orange makes thoughtful bicycle components for riders who care about what goes on their bike. The VO Threadless Stem is their benchmark road and touring stem. A simple, clean, polished aluminium stem with a four-bolt faceplate, 1-1/8" steerer clamp, and a flippable design that doubles the effective range of each angle. Widely reviewed as a modern day classic and tremendous value. The stem that looks like it belongs on a well-built bike without drawing attention to itself.

Flippable. Two Positions from One Stem.
Both the 6° and 17° stems are flippable. Install the stem with the rise pointing up for a higher bar position, or flip it to point down for a lower, more forward position. The 6° stem gives you a near-flat position up or a very slight drop down, correct for a road or aggressive gravel position. The 17° stem gives you a meaningful rise up or a pronounced drop down, correct for the Passage Touring or Commuter rider who wants the bars higher, or the rider who wants to fine-tune position without buying a new stem. Getting the position right before committing to bar tape and cable lengths is easier when the stem itself has two positions to try.

6° Rise. Road and Gravel Position.
A near-flat stem angle that suits an engaged road or gravel riding position. The correct stem for the Passage Gravel, Seymour Road, and riders who want a lower, more forward cockpit. Flipped, it gives a slight 6° drop for an even more aggressive position.

17° Rise. Touring and All-Road Position.
A meaningful rise angle that brings the bars up and back toward the rider. Correct for the Passage Touring, Passage Commuter, and riders who want a more upright, comfortable position on longer rides. Spec'd as standard on the Passage Touring build. Flipped, it gives a 17° drop for a road-oriented position on a frame with limited stack height.

Four-Bolt Faceplate. Secure and Serviceable.
The four-bolt faceplate distributes clamping force evenly across the handlebar clamp area. More consistent pressure than a two-bolt design and less risk of handlebar rotation under load. Compatible with all standard 31.8mm handlebars including the UNO FL-12 and Evercoast Alloy bars. Length is measured centre-to-centre along the extension.

Polished Aluminium. Silver and Black.
The silver version is a clean polished aluminium finish, the classic VO look that pairs naturally with silver cockpit builds and chromoly steel frames. The black version is a matte anodised finish for darker builds. Both are finished to the same standard and carry the Velo Orange logo on all four sides, visible whether the stem is installed rise up or drop down.

Made in Taiwan. Lightweight at 140g.
CNC machined aluminium, 140g at 100mm length. Steer clamp stack height 40mm on the 6° and 42mm on the 17°. Compatible with standard 1-1/8" threadless steerer tubes including the Evercoast Passage and Seymour steel forks.
