Evercoast Passage GRX Flat Bar Gravel Bicycle
The Passage FB GRX is built for riders who want the precision of Shimano GRX and the control of a flat bar, on a steel frame that will still be in service when everything else they've owned has been recycled. This is a gravel bike that commutes. A commuter bike that goes anywhere.
The flat bar changes the conversation entirely. Where a drop bar asks you to commit to a position, the Passage FB puts you upright, aware, and in command — whether you're threading morning traffic on the Arbutus Greenway or picking a line down a wet gravel descent on the North Shore. The GRX shifters translate directly to that context: gravel-specific ergonomics designed to be operated with cold hands, gloves on, or a loaded bag pulling at the bars.
Shimano GRX does not need defending. The clutch-equipped rear derailleur keeps the chain silent and locked on rough terrain. The hydraulic brakes provide consistent, modulated stopping power in the rain that no cable system can match — and in Vancouver, that matters for nine months of the year. This is a drivetrain built for exactly the conditions you will actually ride in.
The steel frame handles the rest. The mint celeste finish, the clean tube junctions, the polished UNO cockpit — this bike looks deliberate because it is. But underneath the aesthetics is triple-butted 4130 chromoly that absorbs the road in a way no aluminum flat bar bike at this price can replicate. It is comfortable enough for a two-hour ride to UBC and back with a full pannier load, and engaging enough that you will not want to stop when you get there.
Every Passage FB GRX is hand-assembled and passes the Evercoast 50-Point Technical Certification at our Kitsilano workshop before it leaves the shop. BSA threaded bottom bracket, standard 31.8mm cockpit, 27.2mm seatpost: every spec decision prioritizes long-term serviceability over marketing copy.
This is the bike for the rider who has outgrown the idea that a serious bike requires a drop bar.
